In this tutorial, I learned how to turn a black-and-white photo into a vibrant colored image using digital imaging techniques. I started by creating and renaming layers for different parts of the photo, like the face, hair, and background. Then, using the brush tool, I carefully selected and applied colors, adjusting the brush size and hardness as I worked on the details. If I made any mistakes, I used the eraser tool to clean up the edges. To make the colors blend naturally, I applied blending modes like "Soft Light" or "Overlay," which gave the image a more realistic feel. I found the shortcut keys really helpful for speeding up the process, especially when switching between tools and making selections. Finally, I combined selections from different layers, adjusted the background, and used blending modes to bring everything together. With the help of the video tutorial, I was able to successfully complete the recoloring. This is the results.

In this advanced recoloring tutorial, I took my black-and-white photo editing skills to the next level. I started by selecting areas of the image with the Marquee Tool and copying them to a new layer. Using the Eyedropper Tool, I carefully picked highlights, midtones, and shadows from reference images to apply realistic colors to the skin. I repeated this process for the hair, refining the selection with the Quick Selection Tool and Select & Mask to get clean edges. I then created a solid color layer, added a layer mask, and used the Soft Light blending mode to make the colors blend seamlessly.

For the face, I followed similar steps, masking out areas like the eyes and lips to keep them distinct. After repeating the process for other elements like fur and accessories, I combined selections from all layers and refined them to ensure everything looked natural. I finished by choosing a background color and adjusting the blending mode. The whole process helped me master advanced recoloring techniques, and with reference photos for skin and hair tones, I created a detailed and realistic colored image ready for submission. This are the results.
