3. Reflection
1. Experience
Through the weekly tasks, I gained hands-on experience with various design processes and digital tools. I learned how to set up my e-portfolio, create and refine sketches, and digitize them using Adobe Illustrator. I also experienced animating typography in Photoshop and adjusting important type settings like kerning, leading, and tracking. Working on each task step-by-step helped me understand the workflow from sketching, digitizing, formatting, and finally exporting my work. Importing my designs into FontLab gave me practical experience in turning my drawings into functional letters. Overall, the constant practice, revisions, and task submissions helped me build confidence and familiarity with the tools used in typography and digital design.

2. Observation
Throughout the weeks, I observed how small design decisions can significantly affect the final outcome. Feedback from Mr. Max made me notice details I might have overlooked, such as alignment, spacing, balance, and uniqueness. I observed that changing even one letter’s movement in an animation could improve storytelling, and that proper leading and kerning greatly improve readability. When reviewing my sketches, I also noticed that some of my concepts were too common, and symbols like stars or yin-yang shapes needed more distinctive treatment to stand out. Using graph paper also helped me observe how proportions, spacing, and boxes can guide consistent and well-balanced letterforms.
3. Findings
From my overall learning journey, I discovered that design is highly iterative—ideas improve through constant revision and feedback. I found that strong typography requires both creativity and technical precision: the sketches need original ideas, and the digital work must be clean, consistent, and properly spaced. I also learned that preparation matters; bringing the right tools and planning ahead saves a lot of time. Most importantly, I found that uniqueness, clarity, and balance are key qualities in good design. Whether in a headline, a font sketch, or an animation, effective visual communication comes from thoughtful adjustments and attention to detail.
